Electrical Engineering:
Our experience and projects cover a wide spectrum namely deep level mining and surface mining projects, paper industry, water pumping, large electric arc furnaces, minerals processing plants (Aluminium, Precious Metals, Metal), rail and harbour infrastructure, as well as energy projects.
APC provides the concept and detailed design and construction/execution/commissioning phases for the electrical power supply infrastructure for above mentioned industries and projects. This infrastructure includes major intake and plant substations from 6.6kV to 132kV and all the associated high voltage and low voltage motor drives for mining machinery and process plants (Motor Control Centers – MCC’s), furnace power supplies, Harmonic Filters / Power Factor Correction (PFC), emergency power supply systems, integrated renewable power and co-generation systems, rail and harbour power supplies, including materials handling equipment, Electrical Distribution Systems (Mini-substations and Distribution Boards (9DB’s) and building services.
All electrical power system designs are designed in accordance with Client electrical specifications and design codes of practice, existing SANS/IEC standards and current legislation applicable in South Africa and Mozambique, specifically the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Mines and Works Act and their associated regulations. Requirements for a safe working and value-engineered, energy efficient plant are also taken into account.
We also assist with Electrical Network Compliance Audits, Testing and Commissioning of Electrical and Automation systems, and Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT’s) of all new electrical equipment and systems.
Specific Electrical Engineering project experience is available on request.
