ABOUT
Active Danger Signs
Active Danger Signs is a concept that revealed itself after an intensive safety review was done at a heavy metals industry in regards to its current safety systems to see how it can be improved. We observed individuals in a normal working environment and noticed that current safety signs in the workplace sometimes become complacent to the individual. Sometimes there is no danger but the sign is still there. When the danger is not there most of the time people tend to perceive that there is no danger and eventually people start ignoring these signs. As the years go by these signs can also become faded and eventually lose there effectiveness as they are not easily noticed.
In another instances it is not possible to place a physical barrier to protect people from entering an area where they are not allowed to enter specifically during process operations.
In both cases mentioned above “Active Danger Signs” has an immediate affect as a pre-warning safety system to become active when there is danger and flags the individual approaching this danger zone to take note of the danger effectively prevent the possible injury.
The “Vision” of Active Danger Signs is to introduce to the world an active safety system that only present the sign when the danger is present. Changing the safety culture from a complaisant approach to a pro-active approach.
